A Telesterion for the Modern Student
In Eleusis, the telesterion was the hall where candidates were initiated into the mysteries. Melesterion — a name coined from that hall — is built to serve the same purpose by different means: patient study, in order, from anywhere.
What we teach
Astrology as the mathematics of character and time. Alchemy as the discipline of inner transmutation. Hermeticism as the study of the laws behind appearances. And the tarot as the tradition's symbolic alphabet — seventy-eight letters that bind the other three together.
Editorial principles
- Primary sources. Our lessons are grounded in the classical corpus of the tradition — the hermetic books, the astrological canon, the alchemical manuscripts — and say so plainly.
- Careful method. Symbol systems are taught as symbol systems: coherent, historical, and useful for self-knowledge. We make no supernatural promises.
- No sensationalism. You will find no conspiracy theories here — no lost continents, no ancient astronauts, no hidden cabals. The real material is stranger and richer than the counterfeit.
- Independence. Melesterion is an independent school. We are not affiliated with any order, church or lodge, and we take no political or religious positions.
- House pen names. Melesterion is written and edited by a small studio. Our blog columns appear under house pen names — a practice as old as the magazines we grew up reading. What matters is checkable either way: the sources are cited in the open. Meet the columnists.
